This skin type requires a little more attention because needs vary. Combination skin can be both oily and normal or oily and dry, simultaneously. The T-Zone area (forehead, nose, chin) usually has a larger follicle size and secretes more oil than other areas of the face. Once again, we are trying to achieve the correct balance of water and oil. Deep pore cleansing is a must and regular exfoliation will help minimize the possibility of a break out. Water based products usually work best on this skin type. Follow the routines for oily/acne prone skin but if you feel too dry add a light moisturizer or a ceramide cream. You will have to use your best judgment because your skin condition will vary throughout the month. A licensed esthetician will be very helpful in tailoring a skin care regiment to fit your changing needs.
